Abraham was given a challenging test...to be willing to sacrifice his son, Isaac, whom he loved. Yet, the real goal was not Abraham, as a father, was willing to sacrifice for God, it was instead seeing what God, the Father, was willing to sacrifice to him (and all of us!)
